It's Incredible The Number and Variety of Products which can be Made from Industrial Hemp... from Food to Clothes to Paper Products to Toiletries to Medicines to Industrial Uses. Most Importantly... Most of The Products Made from Petroleum can Be Made with Industrial Hemp. It also is One of The Fastest Growing Industries Worldwide! Yet... in The United States... It Is Illegal to Grow! Canada started Growing Industrial Hemp over 8 Years Ago... and The Industry there is Thriving. Eventually, it will be One of Their Major Export Crops! Ironic as it is... It Was Also One of America's Chief Export Crops at One Time... around 1750! George Washington Himself Grew and Sold Industrial Hemp. In fact... during The Second World War... there were Laws "Requiring" Farmers to Grow Industrial Hemp... to Aid The War Effort. So... Why is Government (especially Federal Government) so Asinine and Rigid in Their Attempts to Keep Industrial Hemp Illegal... and to Actively Prosecute Any Person or Group Who Attempts to Grow It??? The "Answer" Lies in Why It Was Made Illegal in The First Place... which can get a little Complicated. But... to get to The Bottom Line... It Threatened Various Powerful Industries in Our Country... from Paper (initially) to Petroleum and Pharmaceutical. Also in the later part of The 20th Century to Present... The Food and Clothing Industries. Consequently... The Industrial Hemp Controversy is Not Just About "Industrial Hemp"... but even More So about Political Corruption and Increasing Fascism in America. It is One of The Many Ways and Means Freedom and Democracy is Being Eroded in Our Country. This Issue... Among Many Others... Is The Reason Americans Need to Get More Involved and Be Better Informed... both on The Local and National Levels of Government.
So... How Can Industrial Hemp Benefit The Local Community? To Be More Specific... It can Be Used for The Making of Bio-Fuel! And that is Important for Many Reasons... Including Not Having to Use Food Products such as Corn and Soy. Additional Reasons for Using Industrial Hemp are Agricultural in Nature. Industrial Hemp is a Very Hardy Crop... Resistant to Insects and Weather Variations. Plus... It Helps Prevent Erosion and Does Not Deplete The Soil of Valuable Nutrients. For The Farmer... It Is A "Dream Crop"! For Environmentalist... It Is An Earth Saver! The Midwest Region is Excellent for Growing Industrial Hemp. To Grow It as an Export Crop would bring a Significant Increase in Wages & Profits for Local Business and Revenue for City and County and State Government. For example... many Tobacco Farmers have been looking for an Alternative Crop for Years... and Industrial Hemp is It. Tobacco is Expensive to Grow and Maintain and is Environmentally Destructive... while Industrial Hemp is None of Those Things. Also... of Utmost Important... is Our Dependence on Foreign Oil... and Our Independence "From" Foreign Oil. Ultimately... Our Independence from Oil in General... and The Strangle Hold of The Petroleum Industries Over Our Government... is a Long Range Goal.
Sounds Great, Huh??? But this is Where The Insanity Comes In. You see... The Oil Industry DOES NOT WANT AMERICA TO BE FREE FROM FOREIGN OIL. More Importantly... The Oil Industry DOES NOT WANT AMERICA TO BE FREE FROM "THEM"! Because of That Fact... They Would Allow for America to Be Flushed Down The Tubes... So That They Could Maintain Their Power and Wealth. Don't Doubt It for an Instant!!! The Need for Alternative Energy Sources is Critical in America and The World. We Need to Be Advancing and Subsidizing Those Industries More... and Weaning Ourselves from Gas and Oil. To Do That... We Need to Regain Control of Our Government!
