There is No Reason
Whatsoever that American Citizens should not have Universal Health
Care for Everyone. Perhaps I should say "There is No 'Valid'
Reason". The "Problem" with Health Care in this Country is generally
"Waste, Incompetence and Corruption". And the finger in each of
those areas is pointed at Corporations and Government (who Serve the
Interest of Corporations above the Interest and Needs of the
Public). The "Justifications" by the Health Care Industry and
Government are basically "Bull Shit". The American People have been
Scammed... and they finally Know It!
The biggest argument against
Universal Health Care is "We Can't Afford It" (We being the
Corporate Interests). The answer is "We can't afford Not to have
Universal Health Care". Some of the poorest Nations on Earth have
Universal Health Care... and it is working just fine. The main
reason is "Waste"... or rather "Lack of It". Just simplifying the
Health Care System with "Basic Single Payer Universal Health Care"
would go a long way to Paying for Itself. Just getting rid of the
Bureaucratic Behemoth that is the present Health Care System
would cut a Huge Chunk out of the Total Expense of Health Care.
Obviously, this a very
complex Issue... which in itself makes it difficult to Resolve. But
until the American People see Corporate and Political Corruption as
the Main Cause of "Poor Health Care with High Cost"... and take
action to change the situation... nothing will be done about it. The
Health Care Industry simply "Does Not" have Your Interest at Heart.
It's all about Money... and how much they can squeeze out of
complacent and demoralized society. If "Justice" was actually
Impartial in America... the Jails would be full of Heartless
Corporate Thieves in the Industry and Corporate Whores in Congress.
Ultimately, We (The People)
have Ourselves to blame for the Rape of this Nation by Predatory
Capitalism. We can't change the Past... but We can work in the
Present to change the Future. We have Trusted Our Politicians to
Serve Our Interest and Needs... and they have Failed Us Miserably.
And besides a few Bright Stars... They will Continue to Fail Us. As
long as Corporations are allowed to "Buy" their Politicians of
Choice... then Politicians will continue to Serve the Hand that
Feeds Them. We must get Corporate Interests out of Congress! That's
"Step One" in Solving Our Political Problems... and also in Creating
a Health Care System that will Truly Serve the Health Needs of the
American Public.

On Further Contemplation...
In a way... it is Very
Amusing to watch the Very Predictable and Highly Orchestrated "Show"
that is now playing at the Congressional Theatre in Washington.
Especially, when you consider the amount of Time and Energy and Tax
Payer Money that is being Wasted in this Overly Acted Charade to
convince the American People that they (Congress) are actually
"Sincerely Debating" this Issue... and Sincerely trying to come up
with a Fair, Just, Compassionate, and Economically Feasible piece of
"Balanced Legislation" to Responsibly Serve the American People.
It's All a "Smoke & Mirrors" Show! If it wasn't such a Tragic
Reality Series... it would be rated "The Best Comedy Film of The
Year"!
Ultimately, what this is all
about is Corporate America (Insurance Companies and Other Entrenched
Special Interests) waging a Tug of War with the American Public and
Their Essential Interests. Basically, it would be a Sporting
Event... if it weren't for the Involvement of Government in
the Struggle. Of course, it still could be considered analogous to a
Sporting Event... with the Government as Referee... if the "Rule
Book" was the Constitution. Yeah Right! In this Game... there are
"No Rules". And that makes it "Theatre". It's just a matter of How
many Congressional Whores can be bought with Corporate Money (that
was actually originally Tax Payers Money... but that's another
Feature Comedy). Of course, there are actually those
Politicians that are just so Stupid that they don't even have to be
"Bought Off". And... believe it or not... they don't all come from
the Religious Right or the Republican Party. Some are Actually
"Democrats"???

Yeah... We are living in the
Age of Despicable Personalities... both in Government and Business.
And for some reason We Seem to Love Them (Why else would we keep
them around?). Somehow the "Good Guy" has lost in the Contemporary
Popularity Race... and is finding it hard to Succeed in Business or
Politics. And "We" the Audience... just keep Gazing at the Silver
Screen with that blank "Deer in the Headlights" Stare. You would
think after a while We would "Get a Clue"?
Usually, I try to be a
little bit more "Objective" in writing about a Contemporary Issue.
But this one is so "Insane" in all of its Ridiculousness. Except for
the Totally Indoctrinated and Brain Dead... it is Amazingly Simple. There
really is Nothing to Debate! Single Payer Health Care is the only
Viable and Rational Option... from Every Perspective. The only
"Problem"... is that it Serves the People's Interest... and not the
Corporate Interest... which is why Congress is having to "Struggle"
with this one sooooo much. The "Pretense" has to really look Legit!
And I have to say... there should be some Emmy's given out for this
Blockbuster. For Politicians... Acting comes Natural... but damn
some of these Clowns are Good!

Here are the Basic Facts
about Single Payer Health Care:
1. The Single Payer
Health Care System has a Long and Proven Record in many other
Democratic Countries. It's an Irrefutable Documented Success!
2. We already have
Proposed Single Payer Legislation ready to go (HR
676). All
Congress has to do is "Pass It". End of Discussion... End of Debate!
3. We already have a
Single Payer Health Care System (Medicare)... and it is Highly
Successful. Why not Include "Everyone" under this Umbrella?
4. We can't afford
"Not" to have a Single Payer System... which would be cheaper than
our current Health Care System. It would bring in Competitive
Pricing and Eliminate the "Pay Off" to Corporate Insurance
Companies... which would remove a lot of Bureaucratic Waste... and
Save Lots of Green!
5. Single Payer Health
Care is the "Only" Health Care System that would Serve Everyone's
Needs... and do so with Compassion and Human Dignity.
6. Universal Health
Care is a Basic Human Right! |
For those who are keeping
abreast of this Issue "to any extent"... one cannot help but be
somewhat aware of the Incredible Amount of Great Information and
Credible and Creative Journalism that has emerged from this Epic
Challenge and Opportunity. It is just Amazing that so much
Intellectual Grist has been offered for Our Contemplative Mills.
Yet... with So Much Being Said and So Much Being Explained and So
Much Positive Creative Energy being put into this Senseless
Struggle... America (in all it's Brilliance and Greatness and
Courage)... is going to let a few Privileged Corporations and a Gang
of Political Clowns... Send Us Down the River... in just another
Amusing Theatrical Performance of Pretend Government. And You know
what... We won't do Squat about it! They've got Our Number... and
They Know that "We Just Don't Matter Anymore". That is essentially
what George W. Bush told You a few years back. Weren't You
Listening?
Then again... maybe We
Actually "Do Matter". Maybe it's far past time that We give Congress
and Corporate America a "Reality Check". Maybe It's Time to "Kick
Ass & Take Names"... and let the Politicians Know at the Ballot Box
Who Is in Charge and Who They Serve... and let The Corporations Know
that Consumers are the ones Who Run this Show. Predatory
Corporations: We don't Need "You"... and We Don't Need Your Damn
Business (or Stock)!
But... then again... We
would have to "Pay Attention" for that to happen. And of course...
We would have to Exercise some of that Gray Matter upstairs. And of
course... We would have to try Standing Up for something that might
take a Little Personal Courage (Gulp). And of course... We would
have to start Thinking like a Community United. Hmmmmmmm...
Hey... It could happen. Just
Maybe. :)
